There are people who are naturally set up to create their own world. One day they come to art because they don't know how to fight the impulse to reproduce something as real as themselves. This is the story of Natalia Rey - a girl who erases the edges of the painting.
Natalia came to painting through photography and Photoshop. The desire to reflect and influence reality pushed her to search for an ideal form of art. She found an inspiration in painting, created using a special technology of optical lumen.
Natalia has been painting in the Leonardo Da Vinci technique for about two years now. She creates paintings that are hard to guess the features of modernity. The paintings seem to have come straight from the 16th-18th centuries. Many people associate them with huge collections of art galleries on a global scale. But what are the similarities between Natalia Rey's works and the great masters of the past?
Her paintings are alive. Natalia paints in such a way that from a glance at the skin of the model, you can already feel the touch. That the fruit with a single look conveyed a fresh and familiar smell. In the eyes of the model you can see the soul, and the hair scattered across the canvas...
The depth and naturalness of the paintings, the unity of lines and strokes gather separate expressions into one composition. Even the storm looks harmonious. “Like a real one,” the viewers say.
This is one of the most frequent phrases that are heard next to paintings created in the Da Vinci technique. Not only the owners of artworks, but also their authors have to get used to the lively looks.
When Natalia had finished her painting “Fallen Angel”, she shared her emotions after a nighttime meeting with the painting: “I was really frightened. In the dark, I didn't immediately realize that it was my angel”.
Indeed, look closely at the posture and the tense muscles, the texture of the hair and feathers, with that drilling gaze, you can feel the tension. And what can one feel when stumbling upon those eyes with no light in a apparently empty room?
However, not only tension and a sense of risk are available to painting, but also brighter emotions. Natalia Rey reflects happiness, passion and love in a particularly vivid way. She often takes on challenging signature works, and dynamic paintings that are brimming with feelings between two people. Frozen in the midst of passion, couples seem to give the warmth of their bodies through the canvases.
The technique which Natalia uses is patented. That is why there are very few painters who can compare with the masters of the past. To see their works in person is rare. Often only at organized exhibitions.
In 2025, Natalia's paintings will appear at an exhibition in Dubai. However, only a limited number of influential guests will have the opportunity to touch the works. The price of the exhibited works starts at $30,000.
“Paintings of this quality take from four months to several years of hard work.” - Natalia says, “It all depends on the size and complexity of the work.”
Such masterpieces are exclusive for modern fine arts. Famous Italian artists who look at Natalia's works want to learn from her, but they get the same answer: “I am not interested in learning, only in pure creation.”
Is it possible to see these paintings for art connoisseurs or interested viewers? At the moment Natalia lives in Germany and, of course, invites potential connoisseurs to see these stunning works in person. For customers she sends videos of the stages of work and the final paintings.
