En los deportes donde exista una competición profesional de campo estatal, la liga profesional pertinente se integrará siempre en la federación en los términos que establecen esta ley y sus normas de avance. Se ajusta a esta figura ejercer, en relación a equipos y atletas, las funciones primordiales para el desarrollo del entrenamiento deportivo destinado hacia la obtención y mantenimiento del desempeño deportivo, y la participación en competiciones de cada modalidad o especialidad deportiva, velando por su seguridad y salud e integridad física en la práctica deportiva. El Consejo Superior de Deportes establecerá de manera progresiva la obligación de efectuar reconocimientos médicos con carácter previo a la expedición de la correspondiente licencia federativa o del instrumento que determine la participación en las competiciones y en la actividad deportiva no oficial, en esos deportes en que se considere preciso para una mejor prevención de los peligros para la salud de sus practicantes. Se intentará que se realicen los reconocimientos médicos con carácter previo al inicio de temporada, debiendo tener en consideración la especificidad de cada deporte. I) A que los servicios recibidos a lo largo de su práctica deportiva sean prestados por expertos cualificados de las Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte, por profesionales deportivos, por especialistas o personas certificadas de formación profesional de la familia de las ocupaciones físicas y deportivas o por entrenadores de las distintas disciplinas deportivas formados en enseñanzas reconocidas por la legislación.
